The FAA minimum requirements to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate are:

  • Must hold an FAA 3rd class medical certificate.

  • Must complete 20 of instruction flight time.

  • Must complete 10 hours of solo flight time.

  • Must complete 10 hours of additional flight time.

  • Must pass the FAA private pilot written exam.

  • Must pass an oral test and check ride with an FAA examiner.

  • Must be 17 years old at the time of your check ride.

  • Must be able to speak, write, and understand English.

Our total estimated cost is significantly less than all other helicopter flight schools in Utah.  This is because we eliminate the many hours of expensive class time, and charge less per hour of flight time, saving you up to $10,000.  Our goal is to help the regular citizen acquire their Private Pilot Certificate at a minimal expense.  So, in effort to do this we give you all the tools you need to pass the FAA written exam with a home study course.
